International Sex Worker's Day

The Health Initiative for Men (HIM) HUSTLE Program would like to invite you to celebrate International Whore's Day (IWD). IWD commemorates the 1975 occupation of Eglise Saint-Nizier in Lyon, France, and 5 other churches, by thousands of sex workers. They gathered to protest inhumane working conditions caused by police brutality and oversurveillance, the neglect to address violent crimes against sex workers including two recent murders, and federal laws that criminalized sex work. It is a date to celebrate on the progress made by sex workers and the community's resiliency, and to advocate for further change.

This year, HUSTLE is hosting a virtual panel with current and former sex workers who will discuss sex work’s intersection with queer history, the experiences of queer sex workers today, and the future of sex work.

Location: Zoom

Date: Wednesday, June 2nd

Time: 7-830pm
