A client came in with a sample of expected fentanyl, saying it was very strong and he suspected it to be contaminated with benzos. The substance appearance was light green pebbles and they were very hard in texture.
The FTIR results were caffeine, mannitol, and suspected etizolam.
Fentanyl test strip was positive when using a concentrated solution.
Benzo test strip was positive when using a concentrated solution.
Sam from BCCSU predicts the substance is likely carfentanil and etizolam—a combo seen multiple times before via confirmatory testing.
