Concurrent Disorders Conference is a free, one-day virtual event dedicated to advancing knowledge and building capacity among mental health and substance use professionals. The event is open to health professionals interested in learning how to best treat the complex needs of individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
The free conference is being hosted by BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services, a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), with the support of partners including UBC. The B.C. Concurrent Disorders Conference includes a full program of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and 14 workshops covering a variety of subjects. The agenda is made up of a diverse group of national and international speakers with a common focus on collaborating to improve care for people who live with complex concurrent disorders. The role of patients and families in co-designing care
Person-centred and recovery-oriented care
Therapeutic and relational security
The role of trauma and adverse childhood events in mental illness and addiction
Building capacity care and treatment of concurrent disorders
