A BCCDC Language Guide (July 2020) was created and developed focusing on person first language guidelines for inclusive language for written and digital content for COVID -19 documents. This guide helps offer support on how to focus on the person or individual rather than describing/defining someone by their disability or impairment. It explains how to embed cultural humility and trauma informed practices into policies and documents so that they are non-judgemental, respectful and holistic.
