On Jan 23rd 2020, A substance of down/expected fentanyl, purple/light brown in colour and a pebble texture was tested using the FTIR Spectrometer. The results showed caffeine, Xylitol, and fentanyl or analogue.
The drug was tested at Safepoint OPS in Surrey and was collected and sent for confirmatory testing.The sample lab test results (March 9th 2020) show caffeine, fentanyl, Xylazine, 4-ANPP*, N-phenylpropanamide*
*fentanyl-related compounds (e.g. precursors, byproducts)
Xylazine is a veterinary sedative and has been seen in various drug samples in May-Aug 2018 & Sept 2019. It is not used in medicine and little is known about it's effect in humans. It is a depressant that likely increases the risk of overdose and will not respond to naloxone.
